That's somewhat surprising that Librarians get paid that much money for sorting books. I know that ebooks are becoming more popular as well, and quite often you can get the ebooks for free. So with free ebooks and cheap ebook readers available, I would have thought that there would be less people going to the libraries to check out books.
Although, I can say from experience, that one of the great things I enjoyed about going to the library was the peace and quiet. In a normal home there is so much going on, kids yelling, the radio, the tv, all sorts of distractions.
But at the library, it's so peaceful, it's easy to concentrate and absorb the material that you're reading...so maybe that's what others are finding out, and maybe that's why the library is popular...the peace and quiet.

Anybody has any idea what will be the ones for year 2009? With the downturn, most are now looking for digital media careers. I would expect digital infomedia to be coming up in the charts soon. Cheers.

Librarians should consider familiarizing themselves with the audiobook industry - it is growing every year and makes books more accessible to the public.

I think librarians and those interested in the many facets of the career might want to consider podcasting. As yet another avenue for information technology and information dissemination and delivery.

Becoming a professional in this facet of the career might benefit from professional voice over training, due to the fact that any time a recorded voice is heard, chances are that professional training has been implemented.

So happily interacting with products comes through wherever the many legs of the technological end can take a professional.
