Join ALA and TLA
Although membership in ALA and/or TLA is not required for participation in our chapter’s activities, we do encourage students to join and get involved in these organizations.
The Texas Library Association is a professional organization that promotes librarianship and library service in Texas. Through legislative advocacy, continuing education events, and networking channels, TLA offers members opportunities for service to the profession as well as for personal growth.
The American Library Association is the oldest and largest library association in the world, with more than 64,000 members. Its mission is to promote the highest quality library and information services and public access to information.
